NYU offers a variety of resources to all its students. Below is a list of some (but not all!) of the services available to you during your time at Precollege:

Bobst Library, 70 Washington Square South

The NYU network of libraries is headed by Bobst Library. Bobst houses more than 3.7 million volumes, several special collections, the Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media, and over 25,000 seats for studying and computing. For more information, visit the library website.
Summer hours for Bobst Library are available online.

726 Broadway

Students may search for their course book lists and purchase new and used books at the Bookstore.  The Bookstore is also a great place to stock up on NYU gear, souvenirs, and pleasure reading.  More information about the Bookstore is online.

Course book search and price comparisons are available online.  Not all professors use the NYU Bookstore to order their course reading list.  If you do not have books listed at the Bookstore, do not worry.  You may also wait until your first class to view the syllabus and/or ask the professor about required reading.

Located within the Bookstore, NYU’s Computer Store sells hardware and software at discounted education rates.  They also sell computer books, accessories, and ITP parts and operate an authorized Apple, Dell, and Lenovo repair center.  For more information, visit the website.

60 Washington Square South, Suite 210

The Student Resource Center is your headquarters for navigating NYU and the city.  If you have questions about the University or anything regarding your time at NYU as a student, ask the SRC!  The SRC also has a small computer lab and printer for student use.  There is also a kitchen commuter students can use for to store or heat up lunch!  More information about the SRC is online.

561 LaGuardia Place

The Office of Global Services (OGS) provides specialized support to NYU’s international students including immigration advising and guidance, mandatory check-in, and more. To learn more about OGS, visit their website.

1407255646377NYUCARD CENTER

7 Washington Place
Open Monday – Friday

All students must have a NYUCard.  It grants you access to NYU buildings, resources, and services.  Your NYUCard can also be used as a debit card with Campus Cash for dining, laundry, and other services.  We recommend students to get their card from the NYUCard Center prior to their first class, if possible, because lines can be long on the first day.  All students must bring a valid photo ID to the Card Center when they get their cards.

Please note: Students must return their NYUCards at the end of Precollege.  Residential students turn in their cards upon move-out, and commuter students can return them directly to the Card Center. If you do not return your card and come back to NYU as a student at a later date, you will be assessed a $25 replacement fee for a new card.

7 Washington Place

Housed in the same space as the Card Center, Public Safety provides emergency help and information 24 hours a day.  If you need assistance, call the helpline listed above or ask a guard.  Guards are posted in most NYU buildings and patrol the campus area.  University buildings with green lights outside the main entrance have guards on duty 24 hours a day, and emergency call boxes are located throughout Washington Square.  Public Safety also manages the University’s Lost and Found.

Safe Havens are local businesses where you can seek assistance in case of an emergency.  They are located in the Soho, Greenwich Village, Union Square, and Gramercy Park neighborhoods.  All have a Safe Havens sticker in their windows.  A list of Safe Havens, along with safety tips, is available online.

10 Astor Place, 4th Floor

IT is NYU’s central organization for technology services such as computer services, Internet resources and access, and telephone services.  Call the helpline above if you ever have trouble with a computer or Internet connection, have questions about NYUHome access, or are looking for the nearest computer lab. You can also reach ITS via email at askIT@nyu.edu.

Information about ITS is online.  A list of computer labs on campus is also available.

Palladium Athletic Facility, 140 East 14th Street
404 Athletic Facility, 404 Lafayette Street

Gyms are available to all students. The facilities include cardio and weight equipment, pools, squash courts, and rock climbing walls.

*Please note: Precollege occurs during the University’s traditional summer break. As such, some NYU offices may operate on a different schedule than they do during the academic year. Most offices are open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you have questions about resources and services available during the summer, contact us.
